I’m so glad you’re here!

Hi! I’m Claire

The heart and soul behind Everywhere With Claire. My life is a blend of open roads, stunning landscapes, and the joy of sharing it all with my faithful golden retriever, Oscar.

As a full-time digital nomad living in my DIY camper van, I’ve turned North American into both my home and my workspace.

my story:

From Four Walls to Four Wheels

My journey began with a passion for freedom and a love of dIY Projects

After years of inflexible 9-5 roles in Corporate America with limited PTO, I decided it was time to amplify my own life. That’s when I traded my traditional home for a life on the road in a van I converted myself. It wasn’t just a change of scenery; it was a complete lifestyle transformation.

a love of the outdoors

I Never Thought I was outdoorsy

It wasn’t until 2020 that I really started spending more time outdoors, picking up hobbies like hiking and backpacking. Prior to that, I had minimal experience with car camping and I definitely didn’t have any camping gear.

I began to met other outdoor enthusiasts and started to build my skillset and confidence.
Around the same time I started to burn out of my corporate job, and spending time in nature was healing and stress-relieving for me. I wanted as much time outdoors as I could get.

I knew I needed more time in nature, more flexibility in my work schedule to chase sunrise hikes and explore National Parks and, of course, I needed to do all of this with my dog, Oscar.

All of this made my next choice really easy…

Oscar

Traveling with my dog can be challenging, especially because he’s too large to fly in the cabin of a plane.

I researched for months for a solution that would let us take extended trips to far away places together. The options were bleak.

Ultimately, I realized I would need to drive.

i Built My Campervan

My van took over a full year to build. It was a steep learning curve for me – I’d never attempted any project this big before. Not only did I complete the build, but it’s also incredible and something I’m so proud of.

The biggest thing I learned from building my own van is that anything is possible. It might not be easy, but it’s possible. And it’s possible for you, too!

Life as a full-time traveler

As soon as I finished building my van I hit the road. I’ve been traveling in my van for the last two years and have seen a majority of the United States and Canada.

Living in a van has allowed me to travel more slowly and see places in more detail. I’ve been to 15 US National Parks, including Glacier, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Great Smoky Mountains and Rocky Mountain National Park. I’ve also been to Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada.

This year I have plans to explore Mexico in my van.

My two year plan is to build a second van, complete the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage and to spend a summer in Iceland (and possibly return to New Zealand) living in my van and chasing the midnight sunset.
